Instinct Magazine: Pandora Boxx

Why did you want to be on Drag Race? Drag Race made history and thrust the drag queen world into mainstream consciousness again, much like RuPaul did when he burst onto the scene with “Supermodel.” I wanted to be a part of something so important, exciting and groundbreaking to drag queen culture. Also, the exposure from the show can certainly help a Fake Lady out!

Who was your drag inspiration? I find inspiration everywhere like Broadway musicals, John Waters’ films, Christmas lights, crack whores, jellybeans, rock stars, liquor-induced visions and carnivals. Once a carnie, always a carnie.

Who was your drag inspiration? One of my biggest inspirations was Nina Flowers, who I saw for the first time back in 1997 and she bedazzled me with her talent and innovative style.

What is your biggest drag disaster? My biggest drag disaster was when I lost my top on a show and was left bare-chested like Janet Jackson—but without the boobs!

Tell us about your first time in drag: In high school, I borrowed a friend’s red homecoming dress, she did my makeup and we skipped school to go and see RENT (the musical) dressed as the characters.

Who was your drag inspiration? RuPaul of course! She was the first man in a dress that I ever saw and liked. She was no Sheneneh (Martin) or Wanda (In Living Color). She was fierce!

Describe your girl in 3 words: Showstopping, Dazzling and Electric!

Tell us about your first time in drag: My first time in drag was a little bit of a train wreck ... however I still had a complete blast! It was a last minute decision, my friends dressed me and we went out and tore up the club. I really thought that I was amazing!

How did your persona come to be? My persona in drag is just a magnification of what I think a powerful, in-touch and in-charge sexy woman is. Morgan has a rocker attitude; she says what’s on her mind without apology. I think that Morgan is a strong entertainer yet humbled. Morgan is definitely a jokester. Drag is supposed to be fun. I think a lot of people have forgotten that.

What is your biggest drag disaster? My biggest drag disaster (there are too many to count since I am still having them!), if I had to choose it would be when I was performing and there was water involved. The wig got heavy and it fell off my head. Then my dancer lifted me up above his shoulders and as he was spinning he dropped me and I hit the stage—then proceeded to fall off the stage. I continued the number but was completely busted...Oh well, it happens.

Instinct Magazine: Sonique

Joshua Miller/ Sonique

Why did you want to be on Drag Race? I wanted to challenge myself, and why not doing in front of the whole world!!!

Briefly tell us about your first time in drag: NEVER again will I only put on mascara and lipstick and walk out of the house, unless my house catches on fire.

Who was your drag inspiration? I have always been the "tomboy" type and P!nk was my first inspiration. She is not only sexy and unique but she can kick some major ass.

Tell us about your first time in drag: My first time in drag was a train wreck! I knew my words but my makeup...it was like there was nothing there, and I wore a school girl outfit! To this day just one person has the REAL pictures of me my first time in drag, so I’m super nice to him.

What is your biggest drag disaster? Forgetting my hair at home

Describe your girl in 3 words: Fierce, Cocky, Loyal

Which contestant would you most like to trip walking down the catwalk? Wow ugh... it might have to be Juju cause there can only be room for ME to stomp the catwalk to death.

Instinct Magazine: Nicole Paige Brooks

Joshua Miller and Nicole Paige Brooks

Why did you want to be on Drag Race?

A friend told me to sign up for the first season but I didn’t really know what it was then. After seeing the show I really wanted to be on because I have a son and really liked that it showed all the work that goes into what we do as artists. It will be something I can use to help explain what daddy does for work.

What is your biggest drag disaster?

I forgot my name when I was in a pageant once, Miss Gay GA US of A. Most recently, I was doing a shot with someone during the show and as soon as I took it, I threw up on stage... not cute!

If you had to perform only one song the rest of your life, what would it be?

I would die if I could only do one song for the rest of my life! I love changing things up too much, I would just retire.
