When SF's Trannyshack descended upon LA for its latest installment at The Echoplex, WOW reporter Damiana Garcia was on the scene to take in all the tranny mayhem. She checked in with featured performer and legendary diva Kembra Pfahler of The Voluptuous Horror of Karen Black, Trannyshack founder Heklina, Trannyshack-LA producer Cody Bayne, as well as Phyliss Navidad, Raya Light, Rhea Litre, Squeaky Blonde, Lady Bear, Monistat, Shenana Iggins, Mario Diaz, Ernie Omega, Jessica Savano, Rolling Blackouts' Gabe Ayala, Cheyne Hauk, Alice Cunt, Blossom, Victor Martinez, DJ Polywog, Scott Romstadt, Matt Chaney, Miles Davis Moody and a roomful of hot boys and trannies. Trannyshack was a weekly San Francisco drag club started by drag queen Heklina at The Stud bar. Founded in 1996 as an offshoot of Klubstitute, it was a Tuesday night fixture in San Francisco for 12 years, and drew large crowds on a regular basis. The Tuesday night performances in San Francisco ended on 12 August 2008 with special events. Trannyshack travels to various cities around the world.
