The Top Ten Q & A: Glenn Douglas Packard

There is a lot more to Glenn Douglas Packard then being Brooke Hogan’s best friend on VH1’s “Brooke Knows Best” He is a definite hottie with brains to match. This Emmy Nominated Choreographer, Director and Actor doesn’t show any signs of slowing down! He is ready to take on the world with a future career in fashion and music. After All, he just wants to entertain us. So let him entertain you!

1. Who was your biggest inspiration to start dancing? Why? I was in a really bad farming accident when I was young. I almost lost my left leg and broke my back and the doctors said they would have to amputate my leg. I have a steel rod in my leg now, and after a year of my life in hospitals from that accident I knew I did not want to live my life living for someone else's dream. My father had hoped I would take over the families farming business, but I had a dream of being a star. I found inspiration through movies like Footloose, Dirty Dancing and Flashdance as well as music videos by Janet Jackson, Paula Abdul and Michael Jackson. I knew I had it in me to make it happen.

2. What motivated you to transition from dancer to choreographer? Well I was always at jobs as a dancer, and I was always thinking, “I need to be the one in charge; I could do a better job!” It allowed me to be more creative as the one in charge. Plus the pay check was bigger.

3. You have worked with some of the biggest acts in the entertainment industry including Pink, Missy Elliott, Whitney Houston and Usher but what do YOU think is the most impressive part of your Resume? My mom would say the kind of man I am, but if I had to talk about my resume it would have to be working on the Michael Jackson: 30th Anniversary special, it was an honor to be one of the last people to work and dance along side the KING of POP. And I got an Emmy Nomination for it. Currently I am really proud of VH1’s Brooke Knows Best, a lot of people want a reality show, and I'm on one right now, and I worked really hard to get there. And I am enjoying every minute of it!

4. What was it like working with the Legendary Michael Jackson? Well, he was the greatest entertainer on EARTH! I couldn't have been more blessed to have the opportunity! He even did a special private performance during sound check for just me and the dancers of him and the white glove performing “Billie Jean” it was so amazing.

5. Where were you when you found out MJ had passed? What went through your mind? I was in my home town of Miami, grocery shopping with Daniel and I over heard some shoppers talking about Farrah Fawcett and then heard them mention MJ, I asked them "I’m sorry what did you say?" they had told me MJ was rushed to the hospital, at the same time my phone blew up everyone tell me he passed away. At first I thought because it was him, people were making the situation worst then what it was, but then when it was confirmed I realized he would live on thru his music, I mean my nephews & niece can’t stop listening to him now.

6. What is the best thing about being on a reality show? Having the opportunity to be heard and inspire a new generation. Im a gay man on a very straight viewing audience with young viewers and I enjoy showing them that Gay is the new Black! Let the straight boys know that we are not all out there skipping and singing Broadway Tunes and trying to sleep with them. (Even though I do sing Broadway tunes.) lol

7. What is the hardest thing about being on a reality show? There isn't I love everything about it! I'm one of those people that are like BRING IT ON!

8. How did you meet your co- star and best friend Brooke Hogan? I was living in Orlando, FL while I was in boy band that crazy manager Lou Pearlman had put together, he had managed NSYNC & BACKSTREET BOYS. Terry (HULK) wanted his daughter to have the best. Lou introduced Brooke to me. And I started giving her dance lessons and training her to be a performer.

9. You recently introduced the viewers to your new boyfriend (and friend of mine) who used to live in Los Angeles and graced many Magazine covers, Daniel Miagany. How did you meet? It kind of went like this, he moved to Miami to find "The One" I was on a date and he was out with a mutual friend, we started talking and hit it off. We were great friends always talking about boys, dreams, life, family...and realized we where having more fun with each other then the people we were dating. I asked him if I could kiss him and the rest is gay love history.

10. What is next for Glenn Douglas Packard? Where do I start? I have a clothing line coming out called “FUNK-I-FY” Daniel & I are shooting a really sexy gay fantasy calendar together. There is even a song in the future with a music video. I would love to have my own sitcom one day. I love waking up going on set, giving a hundred present of myself and entertaining people. I want to start an organization or become part of one that helps young kids in smaller states and cities on coming out. And of course be able to marry Daniel & raise a family!
